Reserved matters approval for Ashmere Phase 1 was secured in April 2020, with Reserved Matters approval for Phase 2 secured in July 2021 equating to a net total of 516 residential dwellings. Construction operations for the first and second phases at Ashmere are commencing on site.

The proposals for Phase 3 follow engagement with EDC planning and design officers, and the purpose of this virtual consultation is to show residents and stakeholders the current proposals and to gain feedback on the detailed proposals in respect of the layout; appearance; scale and landscaping. This application is being submitted by Countryside Clarion (Eastern Quarry) LLP.

Eastern Quarry, Masterplan

The wider Eastern Quarry site has outline planning permission for up to 6,250 dwellings. The approved masterplan identified three villages; Western Village, Central Village and Castle Hill. This site forms part of Western Village, now known as Ashmere.

Consent has been granted for the Area Masterplan and Design Code for Ashmere. These documents set design principles and standards for the quality of development over future phases and subsequent Reserved Matters applications. These reserved matters proposals have been designed in accordance with the Masterplan and Design Code.
